Finland scored a big victory in the Ice Hockey World Championship as they beat Slovenia by nine goals to one in Avicii Arena, Stockholm, Sweden on Thursday.
The Lions clearly dominated over the Slovenians during the whole match, although the second period was magnificent when they scored four goals.
Eeli Tolvanen scored four goals for Finland, including a second-period hat trick while Mikko Lehtonen scored the two opening goals at the third and eighth minutes. Vili Saarijärvi, Lenni Hämeenaho and Nikolas Matinpalo scored one goal each to bring the big victory for Finland.
Bine Masic scored the lone goal for Slovenia in the match at the 24th minute.
It was the third victory for Finland out of four group matches.
Earlier the Lions beat Austria and France and lost to Sweden in the previous three matches.
Finland will play against Latvia in their next match on Saturday.
