Current account sees €3.3b deficit in March

The current account was EUR 3.3 billion in deficit in March 2025, according to Statistics Finland.

The 12-month moving total of the current account was EUR 0.7 billion in deficit.

The value of goods exports in balance of payments terms grew by 13 % year-on-year. There was net capital inflow to Finland from abroad.

The services account strengthened by EUR 0.1 billion from previous year and was EUR 0.7 billion in deficit.

The primary income account had a deficit of EUR 2.4 billion mainly due to the deficit of the investment income.

Of the sub-items of the current account, the goods account in balance of payment terms was in balance.

The value of goods exports in balance of payments terms was EUR 6.0 billion.

The value of goods imports in balance of payments terms grew by 11 per cent year-on-year to EUR 6.1 billion.

The value of service exports fell 5 per cent year-on-year and was EUR 2.9 billion while the value of service imports fell 8 per cent year-on-year to EUR 3.6 billion.
