Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) lawmaker Matias Marttinen will take over as the new Minister of Employment on May 6, said the government in a press release on Monday.
He will replace his party colleague Arto Satonen following a decision of Kokoomus, the main component of the four-party alliance government.
The decision of change to the cabinet has been made following the results of local elections held on April 13 and the outgoing minister Satonen has applied for the post of Director General of the Social Insurance Institution Kela, local media reported.
The President will appoint Marttinen to serve as Minister of Employment as peer the government decision.
At the same time, the President will release Satonen from his duties as Minister of Employment and as a member of the Government.
Satonen will continue as a Member of Parliament.
