Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) lawmaker Matias Marttinen on Tuesday took over as the Minister of Employment, said the government in a press release.
The President appointed him to serve as the Minister of Employment replacing his party colleague Arto Satonen.
Following the presidential session, the government decided on changes to deputising arrangements and the composition of ministerial working groups.
The division of duties between the ministers will remain unchanged. The government also appointed Marttinen to replace Satonen as a member of the Ministerial Committee on Economic Policy.
At the beginning of the session, Marttinen took his oath of office and judicial oath.
Mika Nykänen will continue as State Secretary to the Minister of Employment and Teresa Salminen and Jaakko Aromaa will continue as Special Advisers.
Earlier on April 28, the government decided to change the cabinet following the results of local elections held on April 13 and the outgoing minister Satonen has applied for the post of Director General of the Social Insurance Institution Kela.
