A fighter jet of Finnish Air Force crashed near Rovaniemi Airport in Lapland, the northern part of Finland on Wednesday morning, said Finnish Air Force in a press release.
The accident took place at about 11:00 a.m. when the F/A-18 Hornet crashed into the military area.
The pilot ejected from the plane before the crash and was recovered by the rescue service people.
The pilot was taken to hospital for health examination.
Rescue operation was going on till the noon and no human casualty was reported.
The authority will disclose detail about the incident in a press conference later.
